Directions from East Carmel Valley, Rancho Pensaquitos, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, Poway, Mira Mesa, Escondido, Santa Luz, Del Sur, and 4S Ranch:
- Take the 56 freeway going west to the I-5 freeway going south
- Take the first exit on I-5, Carmel Mountain Rd. and turn right (note and obey the no turn on red signs)
- Drive down to the bottom of the hill, where Carmel Mountain Rd. intersects Sorrento Valley Rd, and make a U turn at the light
- Take the second driveway and park
- The entrance to Full Potential Martial Art Academy‘s Carmel Valley dojo is via the steps at the south (far) end of the parking lot
Directions from North Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Rancho Santa Fe, and North County:
- Take the I-5 freeway going south. Passing Del May Heights Road, get on the I-5 Local Bypass lanes
- Exit I-5 on Carmel Mountain Rd. and turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp (note and obey the no turn on red signs)
- Drive down to the bottom of the hill, where Carmel Mountain Rd. intersects Sorrento Valley Rd, and make a U turn at the light
- Take the second driveway and park

Directions from South Carmel Valley:
- Turn west at the intersection of Carmel Mountain Rd. and El Camino Real, onto Carmel Mountain Rd. (isn’t it strange that you have to turn to stay on the same road?)Drive past High Bluff Drive
- Drive down to the bottom of the hill, where Carmel Mountain Rd. intersects Sorrento Valley Rd, and make a U turn at the light
- Take the second driveway and park

Directions from La Jolla, University Town Center (UTC), University City, Clairemont Mesa, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Mission Valley and Downtown San Diego:
- Take the I-5 freeway going north (directly or via the 805).
- Take the I-5 Local Bypass lanes, toward the Carmel Mountain Rd. exit and the 56 freeway
- Exit the freeway at the Carmel Mountain Rd.
- Turn left onto Carmel Mountain Rd. (west).
- Drive down to the bottom of the hill, where Carmel Mountain Rd. intersects Sorrento Valley Rd, and make a U turn at the light
- Take the second driveway and park
